Earl Shilton is a town in Leicestershire, in the borough of Hinckley and Bosworth, a short distance northeast of Hinckley. It grew from a village with medieval roots into an industrial settlement, where framework knitting, hosiery and footwear manufacturing shaped its streets and brought much of its growth in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.

Around this core, twentieth-century housing estates bring more regular patterns of crescents and cul-de-sacs. Beyond them lie the fields and hedgerows of the Leicestershire countryside.
