Formigal Map Poster & Print
Formigal lies in the Tena valley in the province of Huesca, in the municipality of Sallent de Gállego, close to the French border. From above, the resort village sits on a slope above the upper Gállego river, and the ski area extends in several directions into side valleys and high bowls. The road continues north to the Portalet pass and into France.
Formigal is part of a larger ski area it shares with nearby Panticosa, which together make one of the largest ski domains in Spain. On the map the pistes spread widely over several ridges and basins. Down the valley, the Lanuza reservoir forms a long band of water on the river.
