Futog Map Poster & Print
Futog lies on the left bank of the Danube in Vojvodina, just upstream from Novi Sad, and now forms part of the city's wider urban area. The plan is long and linear. A main road runs roughly parallel to the river, and the town's streets line up along it in the regular pattern typical of settlements on the Pannonian plain.
To the south, the Danube and its wooded floodplain set a soft, irregular edge. To the north, the land opens into flat, carefully divided farmland. Futog is known across Serbia for its cabbage, futoški kupus, which is grown in these fields and carries a protected designation of origin.
