Horsham Map Poster & Print
Horsham is a market town in West Sussex, on the edge of the Weald between London and the south coast. From above, its historic centre gathers around the Carfax, an irregular open space where several streets meet, with the Causeway running south as a quiet, tree-lined street toward the parish church. Residential districts spread outward in rings of later development.
Green space shapes the edges of the town. Horsham Park sits close to the centre, while St Leonard's Forest lies to the east and the upper reaches of the River Arun run nearby. The town gave its name to Horsham stone, a sandstone split into slabs that was used for roofing across the region.
The poet Percy Bysshe Shelley was born just outside the town, at Warnham, and is commemorated in Horsham. A Horsham map poster shows the older core around the Carfax, the park beside it and the gradual spread of streets into the Sussex countryside.
