Kartalkaya Map Poster & Print
Kartalkaya is a ski resort in Bolu Province, in the Köroğlu Mountains of northwestern Turkey. From above it appears as a compact group of large hotels at the end of a single mountain road, surrounded by thick pine and fir forest. The ski runs start at the edge of this cluster and spread across the open slopes higher up.
The resort is within a few hours' drive of both Istanbul and Ankara, which makes it one of the best-known winter destinations in the country. Its snowy forests surprise visitors who think of Turkey mainly as a summer destination. The wider Bolu region is also known for lakes such as Abant and Yedigöller, and for its long culinary tradition.
