Krasnogvardeyskoye Map Poster & Print
Krasnogvardeyskoye is a rural settlement in the northwest of Stavropol Krai in southern Russia and serves as the centre of its district. The land around it is part of the steppe north of the Caucasus foothills, and from above it is dominated by big rectangular fields and long straight roads.
The settlement follows the pattern of many villages in the region. Streets run in long parallel lines, with houses set on deep plots that stretch back into gardens. On a map this makes an orderly, stretched form, so the village looks almost like part of the surrounding field system drawn at a finer scale.
A Krasnogvardeyskoye map poster uses plenty of empty space. Streets fill the centre of the frame and farmland takes over at the edges, which gives the print a calm, graphic quality that suits a minimal interior.

Deep plots
Houses front the street with gardens reaching far behind, so blocks appear long and narrow and the built area has a distinctive striped texture.
Steppe fields
Around the settlement the land is open and heavily farmed, and the field boundaries repeat the geometry of the streets on a larger scale.
