Mława Map Poster & Print
Mława is in northern Mazovia, Poland, about halfway between Warsaw and the old border of East Prussia. From above, the town has a classic Polish layout. A central market square forms the heart of the old town, with streets leading out in several directions, and newer housing estates and industrial areas spread around them.
The town is known for the Battle of Mława, fought in the first days of September 1939, when Polish defenders held fortified positions north of the town against the German advance. The railway line between Warsaw and Gdańsk passes through Mława, giving it a firm line across the plan and a long-standing role as a transport point.
