Narsingdi lies north-east of Dhaka, on low, well-watered land close to the Meghna River. Like many towns in the delta, it is shaped by water. On a map, roads and the railway run on raised alignments across the flat ground, while ponds, canals and seasonal channels fill the spaces between neighbourhoods.
