Nimach Map Poster & Print
Nimach sits on the northern edge of the Malwa plateau, close to the border between Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. From above, the town has two distinct parts: an older core of narrow, winding lanes around the market, and a more spacious area laid out in straighter lines. A railway runs through the town, and around it lies open, flat country divided into fields.
The spacious section dates from the British era, when Nimach was an important cantonment. Wide roads, large plots and tree-lined avenues still show that origin on a map. The Central Reserve Police Force traces its founding to Nimach in 1939, and the district is also known for licensed opium poppy cultivation.
