Njala Map Poster & Print
Njala lies in the Moyamba District of Sierra Leone's Southern Province, in rolling country of farmland, bush and riverside forest. It is best known as the home of Njala University, which began in the 1960s as an agricultural college. On a map the settlement is loose and green, a scatter of campus buildings, staff housing and village lanes rather than a dense urban grid.
The river shapes the town's outline. Water curves along the edge of town, and the tracks to fields and research plots keep to the gentler ground above it.
