Puzi Map Poster & Print
Puzi lies in the rugged southeast of Chongqing municipality, a region of steep hills, deep valleys and fast rivers at the edge of the Wuling Mountains. Towns here rarely have room for a grid. Streets squeeze along the valley floor or climb the slopes, and the shape of a settlement is set by the terrain as much as by any plan.
Seen from above, settlements in this kind of country tend to stretch along a valley, with a dense band of buildings and roads and quieter lanes branching into side gullies. Terraced fields and small villages cover the surrounding slopes, reached by roads that wind back and forth to gain height. Every line on the map reflects the ground beneath it.
