Raub Map Poster & Print
Raub lies in western Pahang, in the hilly interior of Peninsular Malaysia, not far from the Titiwangsa range. The town grew in the late nineteenth century around gold mining, and for decades the mines shaped its economy and layout. On the map, the older centre forms a compact cluster of streets, with newer areas spreading out along the valley roads.
The land around Raub is steep and green. Forested hills, rubber and oil palm plantations and orchards cover the slopes. In recent years the district has become well known for its durian, especially the Musang King variety, which draws visitors from across the country and abroad. Small rivers wind through the valleys between the hills.
