Rixensart Map Poster & Print
Rixensart lies in Walloon Brabant, southeast of Brussels, and brings together several villages, including Genval and Rosières. On a map it looks green and loosely built: residential streets winding over gentle hills, patches of woodland, and a railway line running through with small stations along the way.
Its best-known feature is the Lac de Genval, an artificial lake created in the early twentieth century that became a popular weekend destination for people from Brussels. Rixensart also has a seventeenth-century château, still owned by the family that has held it for generations.
