Rowlett lies northeast of Dallas, spread along the eastern side of Lake Ray Hubbard, a large reservoir on the East Fork of the Trinity River. On a map, the water dominates the western edge of the city, its shoreline broken by coves and peninsulas that residential streets wrap around.
