Salmās Map Poster & Print
Salmās lies in West Azerbaijan province in northwestern Iran, on a fertile plain northwest of Lake Urmia with mountains rising toward the Turkish border. After a major earthquake in 1930 destroyed the old town, a new town was built nearby, and the map still shows the order of that planned reconstruction.
Wide avenues lead into a central focus, with regular blocks arranged around them, while orchards and fields press in from all sides.
