River through town
A river runs through Saqqez and anchors its layout; the tightest blocks keep close to its banks, and bridges show up as short, precise crossings in the line work.

Saqqez Map Poster & Print
Saqqez lies in the northwest of Iran's Kurdistan Province, in the high country of the Zagros. From above, the town gathers along a river valley, its densest blocks sitting close to the water and newer districts spreading onto the lower slopes. Main roads follow the valley floor, while smaller lanes branch uphill in short, irregular runs that stop where the terrain turns steep.
The town sits on the road linking Sanandaj with the cities of West Azerbaijan, and that through-route reads clearly on the map as a firm line cutting across the finer street pattern. Around it, open hills and farmland leave the edges of the drawing spare, so the built area holds together as a compact, recognisable shape against empty ground.
The surrounding district is known to archaeologists for Ziwiye, the site where a celebrated hoard of Iron Age gold and ivory objects came to light in the twentieth century. A Saqqez map poster keeps to the present-day town, rendered in fine black lines: the river, the edges of the hills and the street pattern of a Kurdish highland centre.

Valley-side streets
Away from the centre, streets climb the slopes in short irregular segments, giving the edges of the map a loose, almost hand-drawn quality typical of highland towns.
Regional through-road
The highway passing through Saqqez toward Sanandaj forms one of the strongest lines on the sheet, cutting cleanly across the finer residential grain on either side.

For people from Saqqez, or with family roots in Iranian Kurdistan, the map is a quiet way to keep home in view. The street pattern is personal without needing a photograph, and it sits comfortably in a hallway, study or living room.
You can set your own title and subtitle, add a date or keep the coordinates line, and choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Buy the $9 HD files to print locally, or order a matte printed poster with an optional wooden frame.
