Seelze Map Poster & Print
Seelze lies just west of Hanover in Lower Saxony and is made up of several former villages that grew toward each other over the past century. From above it looks less like one centre than like a loose cluster of settlements separated by fields, woods and water. Transport lines run clearly between them.
The Mittelland Canal cuts across the area in a long straight line, while the Leine meanders through its floodplain nearby. Seelze is also home to one of the largest railway marshalling yards in northern Germany. Its many parallel tracks fan out into a wide, finely striped band that is unmistakable on the map, and the town grew around this yard and its chemical industry.
