Shuangjiang is a town in Tongnan district, in the northwest of Chongqing municipality, in the hilly country of the Sichuan Basin. Its name means "two rivers", which points to the waterways that shaped where the settlement grew. The surrounding land is a mix of low hills, terraced fields and valley bottoms.
The town is known for its old quarter, where traditional courtyard houses and narrow streets from the Qing era have survived. It is also known as the hometown of Yang Shangkun, a former President of China.
