Snuol lies in Kratie province in eastern Cambodia, not far from the border with Vietnam. On a map the town gathers around a road junction, where National Road 7 is met by routes leading toward the Vietnamese border and on to neighbouring provinces. Houses and shops line the roads, and beyond them the map opens into large plantation blocks and forest.
