Thekkumkara is a locality in Thrissur district in central Kerala. Like much of this region, it has no hard edge between town and countryside. Houses, temples, schools and small shops are scattered across a green landscape of coconut groves, paddy fields and waterways. The settlement is spread across the land instead of concentrated in one centre.
On a map this becomes a dense web of narrow lanes. They connect one house plot to the next and wander around fields and ponds.
