Venice Map Poster & Print
Venice is one of the few cities whose map is recognised at a glance. The historic centre is built on more than a hundred small islands in the Venetian Lagoon, pressed together so closely that they read as a single mass, roughly the shape of a fish. The Grand Canal winds through it in a reversed S, the main thoroughfare of a city where water takes the place of roads.
Look closer and the pattern becomes extraordinarily fine: narrow calli, small campi and a dense network of side canals crossed by hundreds of bridges.
