Venray Map Poster & Print
Venray is the main town of the northern part of Limburg, set on flat ground a short distance west of the Maas. Its map shows a compact historic centre from which roads fan out to surrounding villages, with newer residential districts filling the spaces between those spokes.
The large Sint-Petrusbanden church marks the heart of the old town, and the streets around it keep the irregular, close-knit shape of a long-established market settlement. Beyond the ring of later neighbourhoods, the landscape opens into farmland, woods and heath, with the motorway running along the edge of the town.
The area around Venray saw heavy fighting in the autumn of 1944, during the battles that followed Operation Market Garden, and the war museum in nearby Overloon recalls that period. A Venray map poster shows a quiet, well-ordered Dutch town whose radiating roads tie it to the countryside around it.
