Zafra Map Poster & Print
Zafra lies in the south of Extremadura, in the province of Badajoz, on a plain of farmland and olive groves. Its historic centre has earned it the nickname Sevilla la Chica, little Seville, and on the map it appears as a tight cluster of narrow, irregular streets surrounded by newer, more regular neighbourhoods.
At the heart of the old town are the Plaza Grande and the Plaza Chica, two arcaded squares joined by a short passage, whose shapes are clearly visible among the dense blocks. Nearby stands the Alcázar of the Dukes of Feria, a fifteenth-century palace now used as a parador, its square footprint marking one edge of the centre.
