Shabelle meanders
The river crosses the frame in wide, looping bends. It is the most expressive line on the print and divides the town into two banks.

Die Karte
Afgooye Map Poster & Print
Afgooye lies on the Shabelle River in Lower Shabeelle, about thirty kilometres northwest of Mogadishu. On the map, the river is the main feature. It winds through the area in loose curves, and the town grew around the point where the main road crosses it. Streets bunch together near the crossing and spread out further away.
The land along the Shabelle is some of Somalia's most productive farmland, and the fields and irrigation channels on either side give the surroundings a distinctive texture. Afgooye was once the seat of the Geledi Sultanate, and it has remained an important market and crossing point on the road inland from the capital. Its history is tied to its position on the river.
An Afgooye map poster highlights what makes the town a landmark: a winding river, a key crossing and roads heading off to the coast and the interior. Printed in monochrome, the meanders and the knot of streets at the bridge create a balanced composition, both clearly readable and personal for anyone with a connection to the town.

The crossing point
Streets gather where the road meets the river. That junction becomes the densest and most detailed part of the map.
Farmland pattern
Irrigated fields along both banks form a patchwork of plots and channels. It fills the space around the town with a fine, even texture.
