Altos Map Poster
Altos lies in the state of Piauí in north-eastern Brazil, about 40 kilometres east of Teresina, the state capital. From above, the town is a compact settlement surrounded by open country, with streets arranged around a central area and extending outward along the main roads. The landscape is broad and fairly level, and the edges of the map fade gradually into farmland and scrub.
The town sits on the highway linking Teresina with the east of the state, and that road forms a clear axis through the map. Altos belongs to the wider Teresina metropolitan region, and many residents travel between the two for work and study. The region is hot, and its farming is adapted to long dry seasons.
An Altos map poster shows a Brazilian inland town in plain terms: the main highway running through, denser blocks at the centre and residential streets spreading outward. In black and white, the regular blocks and the long road make a clean, well-balanced image that anyone who knows the town will recognise.

Central blocks
Streets are densest around the town centre, where shops and public buildings gather, forming the darkest and most detailed part of the drawing.
Open surroundings
Beyond the built-up area, farmland and dry scrub leave generous white space on the page, bringing out the town's clear, compact outline.
