Walled medina
The old town is a close network of narrow, winding lanes held within Portuguese-built walls. It forms the densest and most intricate part of the map.

Asilah Map Poster & Print
Asilah is a small coastal town on Morocco's Atlantic shore, south of Tangier. On the map, its old medina stands out immediately: a dense, irregular mesh of lanes enclosed by walls and pressed against the ocean on its western side. The newer town around it follows a more regular layout, and beaches stretch north and south along the gently curving coast.
The ramparts date from the Portuguese occupation in the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries, and they still define the edge of the medina. Since the late 1970s the town has hosted an annual cultural festival. During the festival, artists paint murals on the whitewashed walls of the old town, so the streets change colour from year to year.
An Asilah map poster turns this contrast into a strong composition. It shows the tight, organic medina within its fortifications, the small fishing harbour beside it, the grid of the modern town and the clean line of the Atlantic. In black and white it has the clarity of an old chart, with the ocean as a broad, open field.

Harbour and seafront
A small fishing harbour sits beside the medina. Its breakwater adds a sharp, man-made angle to the otherwise smooth Atlantic shoreline.
Beaches along the coast
Sandy beaches extend in both directions from the town. They draw a long, gentle curve that gives the poster a calm, open edge.

Warum Asilah
Eine Karte mit Bedeutung
Asilah stays in people's memories: a summer by the sea, a walk along the ramparts, the murals of the festival. A map of the town keeps that memory in a clear, graphic form that suits a bright, quiet room.
You can personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line with a name, a date or a few words of your own. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Sand and Paper suit the whitewashed town especially well.
