White Nile waterfront
The river runs along the western edge of the town and is the defining feature of the map. Its channels and islands give the composition a strong natural border.

Bor Map Poster & Print
Bor is the capital of Jonglei State in South Sudan and lies on the eastern bank of the White Nile, known in this stretch as the Bahr al Jabal. The land around it is almost perfectly flat. On the map, the river and its side channels form the dominant lines, and the town's streets spread back from the waterfront across open ground.
North of Bor begins the Sudd, one of the largest wetlands in the world, where the Nile divides into countless channels and swamps. Seasonal flooding shapes life across the region, and the town's position by the river has long made it an important port and administrative centre. Bor is closely associated with the Dinka Bor community.
A Bor map poster is a meaningful piece for South Sudanese families at home and in the diaspora, for whom the town and its river carry deep personal significance. It also shows a landscape few maps render in detail: a small grid of streets beside one of Africa's great rivers.

Edge of the Sudd
Beyond Bor, the Nile spreads into the vast Sudd wetland, a landscape of channels and swamp that stretches north for hundreds of kilometres.
Flat floodplain
The terrain around the town is level and low, so roads and tracks cross it in long, open lines between river settlements and cattle country.

Warum Bor
Eine Karte mit Bedeutung
For many people, Bor is a place of family, memory and return, and a map of it can carry that meaning into a home far away. The restrained design treats the town with care and lets the river speak for itself.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates, perhaps with a family name or a significant year, and choose one of five styles. The $9 digital files come in six sizes at 300 DPI, and there is a free watermarked preview to check first.
