Bultfontein Map Poster & Print
Bultfontein is a town in the Free State province of South Africa, in a flat agricultural region known for maize and sunflower farming. It was laid out in the late nineteenth century as a service town for the farms around it, and it has kept that role. Like many towns on the Highveld, it has a strong, simple geometry.
The map shows a rectangular grid of streets at the historic core, with a central church square typical of Free State towns. Separate residential areas lie at a distance from the centre, reflecting the country's twentieth-century planning history, and appear as their own dense clusters. Beyond them, long straight roads head across open farmland, and fields form large, clean blocks.
A Bultfontein map poster is a study in open space and order. The town is compact and the land around it is wide and flat, so the composition has a lot of air. It makes sense for people who grew up in the town or farmed nearby, and for anyone drawn to the stark lines of the South African interior.

Open Highveld land
Surrounding farmland stretches in large, uniform fields crossed by straight roads, emphasising how flat and open this part of the Free State is.
