Banditaccia necropolis
The Etruscan necropolis lies next to the town, with its tombs set along ancient streets. Its round tumuli and paths create a very unusual pattern on the map.

Cerveteri Map Poster & Print
Cerveteri stands on a tuff ridge in northern Lazio, a short distance inland from the Tyrrhenian coast and north-west of Rome. It occupies the site of Caere, one of the most important Etruscan cities. On the map, the medieval centre sits on a compact spur of high ground, and newer neighbourhoods spread down the slopes and along the roads towards the sea.
Just outside the town lies the Banditaccia necropolis, part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site shared with Tarquinia. Here the Etruscans laid out their tombs along streets like a city of the dead. The great round tumuli are among the most recognisable shapes of any archaeological site in Italy. Around them, fields and ravines cut into the soft volcanic rock.
A Cerveteri map poster sets the living town beside the ancient one. The medieval streets on their spur, the paths of the necropolis and the ravines around them build a layered, unusual design. It is a portrait of a place where the plan of a city laid out nearly three thousand years ago can still be traced.

Medieval spur
The historic centre sits on a narrow tuff ridge above the surrounding land. Its compact streets form a dense, defined core at the heart of the poster.
Tuff ravines
Small valleys cut into the soft volcanic rock around the town. They break up the fields and roads into irregular shapes that add depth to the design.
