Die Karte
Frascati Map Poster & Print
Frascati sits on the northern slopes of the Alban Hills, about twenty kilometres southeast of Rome, and looks straight out over the plain toward the city. From above, the historic centre is a compact knot of streets on the hillside, with roads zigzagging up from the lowland and branching into the countryside above.
The town is the best known of the Castelli Romani and gives its name to Frascati wine, a white wine produced in the vineyards that cover the surrounding slopes. From the late Renaissance, Roman noble families built grand villas here. Villa Aldobrandini, with its terraces and water theatre, still sits above the town centre.
A Frascati map poster shows the drama of a hill town clearly. Winding approach roads, the dense centre, the formal gardens of the villas and the looser grid of vineyard lanes all fit together on the slope, with the ruins of ancient Tusculum further up the hill.

Tuscolan villas
Grand estates such as Villa Aldobrandini lie above the town, their gardens and avenues showing as formal, symmetrical shapes on the map.
Vineyard slopes
Vineyards producing Frascati wine cover the surrounding hills, crossed by lanes that give the edges of the poster a fine, ordered texture.

Warum Frascati
Eine Karte mit Bedeutung
Frascati is where Romans go for cooler air, a long lunch and a glass of the local white. A map of the town suits a wedding held among its villas, a year spent in Rome, or a love of the Castelli Romani.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, for example with a wedding date. Choose from Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Paper gives the hill town the warm feel of an old estate plan.
