Gobēsa Map Poster & Print
Gobēsa is a town in the Oromia Region of Ethiopia, on the high ground southeast of Addis Ababa. Like many towns in this part of the country, it grew along a main road, and its streets branch off that line into residential blocks and compounds. Around it lies farmland on high, gently rolling ground, part of the broad agricultural belt of the Ethiopian highlands.
From above, the town reads as a compact cluster, not a formal grid. Streets are irregular, following the terrain and property lines, and the edges quickly soften into fields and footpaths. A Gobēsa map poster captures this organic pattern. The main road acts as a spine, and the smaller lanes form a delicate network around it.
With a population of just over twenty thousand, Gobēsa is a local centre for the farming communities around it, with markets, schools and services that draw people in from the countryside. The map needs no famous landmarks. Its interest lies in the honest structure of a highland town and the way it sits in an open agricultural landscape.

Organic lanes
Side streets and paths branch in irregular directions, shaped by terrain and plots, which gives the map a loose, hand-drawn quality.
Highland farmland
Open farmland surrounds the town, rendered as calm white space with scattered tracks, and shows how compact the settled area is.
