Oasis margins
Gardens and palm plots surround the town in a loose belt. On the map they show as a softer texture between the streets and the open desert.

Hūn Map Poster & Print
Hūn is the administrative centre of the Al Jufrah district, in the middle of Libya. It is one of a small group of oasis settlements that includes Waddan and Sokna. From above, the town is a patch of streets and cultivated plots set down in a wide, nearly empty landscape. Palm gardens and irrigated fields form a green margin around the built-up area.
The older part of Hūn was built of mud brick, and traces of its tight, inward-looking layout remain beside the newer rectilinear blocks. On a map the two patterns sit next to each other. One is compact and irregular, shaped by heat and shade. The other is straighter and more spacious, laid out for cars and administration.
A Hūn map poster works because the empty desert around the town is part of the picture. Roads leave the settlement in long, straight lines toward the neighbouring oases and the coast, and the town floats in that emptiness. In black and white, the density of the streets against the open ground has an almost architectural clarity.

Old and new grids
The irregular mesh of the older mud-brick quarter sits beside newer, straighter blocks, so two ways of building a desert town appear in one frame.
Roads to Jufra
Long, straight roads run out toward Waddan, Sokna and beyond. They are thin lines that reach into the blank space around the town.

Warum Hūn
Eine Karte mit Bedeutung
For anyone with roots in the Jufra oases, this is a direct picture of home. For others it is a striking study of how a town holds together in the desert, with streets gathered tightly around water and cultivation.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line can all be personalised, so you can add a family name, a year or a short dedication. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Sand in particular suits the desert setting.
