Irará Map Poster & Print
Irará is a town in the interior of Bahia, north of Salvador and not far from Feira de Santana, in a landscape that sits between the humid coast and the drier sertão. On a map it looks compact and centred: a main square and church, a handful of streets leading away from them and then a quick shift to fields and rural roads.
The town is widely known as the birthplace of the musician Tom Zé, one of the key figures of Brazil's Tropicália movement. Beyond that, Irará is an agricultural municipality, and its surroundings are divided into small holdings and country lanes that show up clearly on the map as a loose, irregular web.
An Irará map poster reduces the town to its essentials: the square, the streets that lead from it and the lattice of rural roads beyond. It suits anyone with family in the region, admirers of Tom Zé and people who like the simple, legible plans of small Brazilian towns.

Rural lattice
Around the built-up area, small farms and unpaved lanes form a loose network of lines that fills the rest of the poster with gentle texture.
Regional roads
Roads connect Irará with Feira de Santana and neighbouring towns, giving the map a few long lines that anchor the compact centre.
