Port of Genoa
Long breakwaters and quays stretch along the waterfront, forming the most geometric shape on the coast, in front of the city's tightly packed medieval core.

Italian Riviera Map Poster & Print
The Italian Riviera is the coastline of Liguria in northwestern Italy, curving from the French border around the Gulf of Genoa to the edge of Tuscany. Genoa sits at the top of the arc and splits it in two: the Riviera di Ponente to the west, named for the setting sun, and the Riviera di Levante to the east, named for the rising sun.
Along its whole length, the Maritime Alps and the Apennines come close to the sea, so the towns sit in narrow bays and at river mouths. Sanremo, on the western side, is known for its song festival and its flower-growing slopes. On the eastern side, Portofino fills a small cove on a promontory, and further on lie the villages of the Cinque Terre.
An Italian Riviera map poster shows the whole curve of the gulf as a single sweeping line, with Genoa's port and dense old centre at its top. Railways and roads squeeze through the gaps between hill and sea, going into tunnels where the slopes are too steep, and a series of small harbours marks the coast at regular intervals.

Two rivieras
West and east of Genoa the coast bends away in opposite directions, giving the map a wide arc that is easy to recognise even at a glance.

Warum Italian Riviera
Eine Karte mit Bedeutung
It appeals to people who know Liguria as a whole rather than a single town: those who have ridden the coastal railway, sailed between harbours or spent summers on both rivieras. The title and subtitle can name the stretch you know, with a date or a line of your own.
All five styles are available: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. The digital download costs $9 and includes six print sizes, each as a watermark-free 300 DPI PNG and print-ready PDF. You can also order a printed poster on matte paper.
