Kammivapettai Map Poster & Print
Kammivapettai lies in the low, level plains of northern Tamil Nadu, not far inland from the Bay of Bengal. From above, the town is a loose cluster of streets gathered around a few main roads. Denser lanes sit near the centre, and the settlement thins out gradually into cultivated land, with little that could be called a hard edge.
The countryside around it is typical of this part of the coastal plain: irrigated fields, tanks that hold seasonal water, groves of trees and village roads crossing the land at irregular angles. On a map these features give the space around the town a soft, patchy texture, very different from the firm lines of the roads.
Places this size rarely appear on printed maps, which is exactly why a Kammivapettai map poster can mean so much to the people connected to it. It records the particular turns of the local lanes, the way the main road cuts through, and the fields and water around them, at a level of detail usually kept for large cities.

Tanks and fields
Irrigation tanks and field boundaries across the surrounding plain appear as soft shapes and fine lines on the map, giving the setting a gentle, open texture.
Coastal plain setting
The land is almost completely flat, so the town spreads evenly outward, with no hills or rivers forcing the streets into a particular shape.
