Central plaza
The main square sits at the centre of the grid. It is a small open space around which the densest blocks and the town's principal streets are arranged.

La Paz Map Poster & Print
La Paz is the capital of the department of the same name in central Honduras, close to the Comayagua valley. Its map follows the traditional pattern of Spanish American towns: a regular grid of blocks around a central square, with the church and civic buildings facing it. Outside the core, newer streets bend and loosen as they meet the rising ground.
The setting is farmland and mountains, with hills enclosing the valley and roads linking La Paz to Comayagua and other towns in the region. The contrast between the orderly centre and the irregular edges is typical of many Honduran towns. It gives the map a clear focal point surrounded by more open and varied ground.
A La Paz map poster centred on the plaza shows the grid at its clearest, with each block reading as a distinct cell. Because there are several places called La Paz, the coordinates line and a personal subtitle help mark this one precisely, whether you name it after the department, a family or a particular year.

Colonial-style grid
Straight streets crossing at right angles create an even pattern of blocks through the older part of town. On paper this becomes a clean geometric texture.
Valley and hills
Beyond the grid, streets curve and thin out against the slopes, while open valley land and farms stretch towards neighbouring towns.
