Die Karte
Lesbos Map Poster & Print
Lesbos is the third-largest island in Greece. It lies in the northeastern Aegean, just a few kilometres off the Turkish coast. Its outline is one of the most distinctive in the region because two sheltered gulfs cut deep into the south coast. The Gulf of Kalloni opens in the middle and the Gulf of Gera further east, and each is enclosed almost completely by land.
Mytilene, the island's capital and port, sits on the eastern shore facing Asia Minor. It is a town of narrow streets and a castle on the headland. Across the north coast, the village of Molyvos climbs up to another fortress. The west is drier and more open, and near Sigri it contains a petrified forest: tree trunks preserved in volcanic ash millions of years ago.
A Lesbos map poster traces a road network that has to wind around the gulfs rather than cross them, which gives the island a looping, organic pattern. The island is also known as the birthplace of the poet Sappho. Its olive groves covered so much of the landscape that for generations the island's economy depended on oil and ouzo.

Warum Lesbos
Eine Karte mit Bedeutung
Lesbos draws people for long summers, family roots and the quiet western villages. Its gulf-shaped outline is easy to recognise even without labels, so the print works as a graphic piece first and a map of a meaningful place second.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line can all be edited to name a village, a family or a year. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand for the look.
