Gulf of Arauco shore
The lower streets run along a curved bay with a headland at each end. The shoreline sets the whole composition and looks especially striking in the Blueprint and Noir styles.

Lota Map Poster & Print
Lota faces the Gulf of Arauco south of Concepción, and its map is shaped by the meeting of sea and steep ground. The lower town follows the curve of the bay, while streets climb in bends and stairways to the upper districts. The coastline, broken by small headlands, gives the sheet a strong and irregular edge.
For more than a century the town lived from coal, much of it dug from galleries that ran out beneath the sea. The Chiflón del Diablo mine closed in the 1990s along with the rest of the industry and is now visited as a museum site. The old company housing still shapes the layout of the upper town.
On a headland above the water lies the Isidora Cousiño park, laid out by the family that owned the mines, with paths winding through gardens toward a lighthouse. A Lota map poster brings these layers together: the working bay, the terraced streets and the green promontory at the edge of town, each clearly visible from above.

Upper town terraces
Streets in the higher districts wind and double back up the slope. Their tight turns record how the town was built around the mines and the housing for their workers.
Isidora Cousiño park
A wooded promontory by the sea, whose looping paths appear as a fine web of lines at the edge of town, set against the dense residential blocks.
