Die Karte
Mappilaiurani Map Poster & Print
Mappilaiurani lies in Thoothukudi district, on the Gulf of Mannar coast of Tamil Nadu. It sits close to the port city of Thoothukudi, and the two form part of the same continuous coastal area. The land is flat and low, and the map shows a mix of residential streets, open plots and the outskirts of a larger urban area.
This stretch of coast is known for salt production, and salt pans appear as rectangular grids of shallow basins along the shore. Roads run inland from the coast and link the settlement to Thoothukudi and neighbouring villages. On the map, the combination of housing, open land and water gives the area a varied and fairly open texture.
A Mappilaiurani map poster shows the place in its coastal setting, with the lanes of the settlement, the flat land around it and the nearby shore. In black and white, the straight lines of salt pans and roads contrast with the looser pattern of houses. It is a simple and honest portrait of home.
