Mossel Bay Map Poster & Print
Mossel Bay lies on South Africa's southern coast, at the western end of the Garden Route. From above, the town follows the curve of a sheltered, north-facing bay. The Point, a rocky headland with a lighthouse, marks its southern edge. The harbour and older centre sit on the slope above the water, and newer suburbs and beaches extend east along the shore.
The bay has a long recorded history. In 1488 the Portuguese navigator Bartolomeu Dias landed here, making it one of the earliest European landfalls on this coast. Sailors later left letters in a milkwood tree that is now known as the Post Office Tree. The caves at Cape St Blaize, near the lighthouse, contain important archaeological evidence of early human life.
A Mossel Bay map poster brings the bay's shape into focus: the curve of the shore, the headland and the harbour. In black and white the division between land and ocean gives the composition a clear, calm outline.

The harbour
The harbour sits below the old town, its breakwaters showing as straight lines against the bay. Fishing boats and the working waterfront gather here.
Curving beaches
Beaches and suburbs stretch east from the town along the bay. On the map the curve of the shore sweeps across the lower part of the frame.

Warum Mossel Bay
Eine Karte mit Bedeutung
Mossel Bay is a place of holidays, first surf lessons and coastal retirements. A map of the bay gives that memory a clean graphic form, suited to a beach house or a city flat far from the sea.
Add your own title, subtitle and coordinates, perhaps a family holiday year or a street name. Five styles are available: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand.
