Main road axis
The principal road runs through the centre of town and anchors the composition. Shops and buildings cluster along it, forming the densest part of the map.

Nejo Map Poster & Print
Nejo is a town in the West Welega area of Oromia, in the highlands of western Ethiopia. The surrounding country is green and rolling, with farmland, patches of woodland and small rivers running through shallow valleys. From above, the town is a modest cluster of streets along its main road, with homesteads and fields spreading out across the hills.
The town acts as a local market and administrative centre for its district. As in much of western Ethiopia, agriculture shapes the landscape, and the pattern of paths and fields around the town reflects generations of small-scale farming. The street layout is simple: a main route through town, with side streets branching off to residential areas.
A Nejo map poster is spare and open. The road through the centre gives it a clear axis, the side streets add a small area of detail, and the rest of the frame is taken up by the soft, empty space of the countryside. It is a quiet, understated portrait of a highland town.

Branching side streets
Short streets lead off the main road into residential areas. They form a loose, irregular network rather than a planned grid.
Highland countryside
Around the town, the map opens onto rolling farmland and small valleys. It leaves plenty of white space that frames the settlement cleanly.
