Two rivers
The Elbe sweeps along the northern side of the city while the Chrudimka winds in from the south to meet it. Together they frame the centre on the map.

Die Karte
Pardubice Map Poster & Print
Pardubice lies in the lowlands of eastern Bohemia, on the Elbe, or Labe, where the smaller Chrudimka flows in. The land is almost entirely flat, so water shapes the map: the broad curve of the Elbe to the north, the Chrudimka winding through the centre, and a scatter of ponds and old channels around the edges.
The historic core is small and tightly drawn, entered through the Green Gate tower and centred on Pernštýn Square. Beside it stands the chateau, rebuilt by the Pernštejn family in the Renaissance and still ringed by earthworks and moats that show up clearly from above. Beyond these, a planned twentieth-century centre and wide residential districts spread out in a more open grid.
Pardubice is known across the Czech Republic for its gingerbread and for the Velká pardubická, a demanding steeplechase run each October at the city's racecourse. On a Pardubice map poster the racecourse appears as a clean oval on the edge of the city, a small, recognisable landmark set against the pattern of streets and rivers.

Chateau and moats
The Renaissance chateau sits inside a ring of ramparts and water-filled moats, one of the most distinctive shapes in the city and immediately visible beside the old town.
Racecourse oval
The long oval of the steeplechase course, home of the Velká pardubická, stands out as a clean geometric figure among the surrounding blocks and green space.

Warum Pardubice
Eine Karte mit Bedeutung
Pardubice is a city people carry with them: students of its university, fans of the October steeplechase, families who grew up between the two rivers. A clean map of the old town, the chateau moats and the Elbe makes a quietly personal piece for a home or office.
Add your own title, a subtitle such as a neighbourhood or a year, and adjust the coordinates line. The five styles are Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Paper suits the historic centre especially well.
