Pawni Map Poster & Print
Pawni lies in Bhandara district in the Vidarbha region of eastern Maharashtra, on the bank of the Wainganga river. The river is the defining feature of any map of the town. It forms a broad curve along one side, and the older streets press toward it, while newer areas and the main roads spread inland across flatter ground toward the surrounding farmland.
The town has a long religious history and is known for its many temples and riverside ghats. Local people sometimes call it the Kashi of Vidarbha. Archaeological work nearby has uncovered the remains of early Buddhist stupas, showing that Pawni was an important centre more than two thousand years ago. Today it remains a small market town serving the villages around it.
A Pawni map poster captures that relationship between town and river. Close to the water, the lanes are dense and irregular, shaped over many centuries. Further out, the grain relaxes into fields, tanks and roads to neighbouring towns. It is a quietly handsome composition, and for anyone with roots in Bhandara, a very recognisable one.

Old temple lanes
The streets nearest the river are narrow and closely packed. They reflect the town's long history as a religious and market centre.
Farmland beyond
Beyond the built-up area, fields and tanks surround the town. They soften the composition toward the edges of the sheet.
