Corps de Garde
The mountain on the town's western flank is a clear landmark from almost anywhere in town. On the map it creates an empty, shaped edge against the dense streets.

Quatre Bornes Map Poster & Print
Quatre Bornes lies on the Plaines Wilhems plateau in the middle of Mauritius, between Rose Hill and Vacoas. From above it is almost entirely urban, with close-knit streets that merge into neighbouring towns with no clear break. The mountain of Corps de Garde rises along its western side, and the dark, contoured mass of the hill stops the street network sharply.
The name comes from the four boundary stones that once marked estate limits here. The town is sometimes called the city of flowers, and its large open-air market draws shoppers from across the island. The main road through the centre carries most of the commercial life, with shops lining both sides.
A Quatre Bornes map poster captures a very particular kind of island townscape. It is inland, cooler and residential, and it is framed by a mountain instead of the sea. The fine mesh of lanes between the main roads gives the print texture, and Corps de Garde and Candos Hill give it a strong outline.

Main commercial spine
A central road runs through the heart of town, lined with shops and the market area. Quieter residential streets branch off it on both sides.
Continuous plateau towns
Quatre Bornes flows directly into Rose Hill, Beau Bassin and Vacoas. The map shows how the plateau towns have grown into one another.

Warum Quatre Bornes
Eine Karte mit Bedeutung
For Mauritians at home or abroad, Quatre Bornes means market mornings, school runs and the shape of Corps de Garde on the skyline. A map print holds all of that without any explanation needed.
Personalise the title and subtitle, perhaps with a street name or a wedding date, and keep or edit the coordinates line. It comes in five styles: Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand.
