Ravenna Map Poster & Print
Ravenna lies on the flat plain of Emilia-Romagna, a few kilometres inland from the Adriatic coast. From above, the historic centre forms a compact, rounded shape of narrow streets surrounded by more regular districts and ring roads. To the east, the Candiano canal runs straight to the sea at Marina di Ravenna, lined with port basins and industrial quays.
The city became capital of the Western Roman Empire in 402 and later served as the seat of the Ostrogothic kingdom and of Byzantine rule in Italy. That era left the early Christian mosaics of San Vitale, the Mausoleum of Galla Placidia and other monuments, which together form a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Dante Alighieri died in Ravenna in 1321, and his tomb stands in the centre.
A Ravenna map poster can be framed around the old centre or pulled back to show the canal and the pinewoods along the coast. The digital version costs $9 and includes six sizes, from A3 and A2 to 24×36″, each as a 300 DPI PNG and a print-ready PDF without a watermark. A free 900 px preview is available.

Candiano canal
The canal runs east from the city to the Adriatic. It is a long straight line flanked by harbour basins, and it gives the map a strong horizontal axis.
Coastal pinewoods
Pine forests such as the Pineta di Classe stretch along the coast. They appear as open, lightly marked areas between the city and the sea.

Warum Ravenna
Eine Karte mit Bedeutung
Ravenna draws people who care about art, history and Dante. Many who have seen the mosaics want to remember the city itself, not just a single image, and a map of its streets and canal does exactly that.
Add a title, subtitle and coordinates line of your choice and pick one of five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Paper and Sand give the old centre a warm tone that suits the city's golden mosaics.
