Riacho das Almas Map Poster & Print
Riacho das Almas lies in the agreste of Pernambuco, the transitional belt between the humid coast and the dry sertão, a short distance north of Caruaru. The town is small, and on the map it appears as a tight cluster of streets surrounded by open, gently rolling land divided into fields and pasture.
The name means stream of the souls, and the town grew in a landscape where small watercourses and local reservoirs matter a great deal. From above, farm tracks spread in all directions from the built-up area, linking scattered rural properties to the centre. The main roads leading out toward neighbouring towns form the strongest lines.
A Riacho das Almas map poster is a portrait of a close-knit agreste town. The compact centre, the fan of rural roads and the soft irregularity of the countryside give it an intimate quality. It is a fitting piece for someone who grew up here and now lives in Recife or further away.

Rural roads
Unpaved tracks run out from town across the farmland. Their thin, branching lines connect outlying properties and fill the edges of the frame.
Agreste landscape
The rolling countryside of fields, pasture and small water bodies surrounds the town. On paper it becomes a quiet, open background to the built-up area.
