The Timpa escarpment
A steep lava cliff separates the upper town from the sea, and the shoreline below forms a crisp, irregular edge on the poster.

Acireale Map Poster & Print
Acireale lies on the east coast of Sicily, north of Catania, on a series of lava terraces that drop steeply to the Ionian Sea. From above, the town is compact and slightly elongated. A dense historic centre sits back from the cliffs, streets climb toward the lower slopes of Etna, and small coastal villages line the shore below the escarpment known as the Timpa.
Much of the centre was rebuilt after the earthquake of 1693, which is why its churches and palazzi share a Baroque character around the cathedral square. Acireale is also known for one of the most celebrated carnivals in Sicily, with elaborate allegorical floats. Its thermal baths are fed by sulphurous springs that have been used since antiquity.
An Acireale map poster captures the pull between coast and volcano: the sea on one side, the rising land on the other, and a tight Baroque street pattern in between. It is a fitting keepsake for anyone who has watched the carnival, walked the Timpa paths, or grown up with Etna on the horizon.

Baroque centre
The historic core around the cathedral square is a dense cluster of streets and piazzas. Rebuilt after 1693, it is still the heart of the town.
Toward Etna
Inland, roads climb toward the volcano through citrus groves and villages, and the street pattern thins out as the land rises.

Acireale appeals to anyone who loves Sicily for its coast and its architecture together. The black-and-white map makes the cliff line and the old centre easy to read, a quieter reminder of the island than a postcard.
You can personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, for example with the date of a visit or a family name. Choose one of five styles and preview it free, then download six print sizes for $9 or order a matte print with an optional wooden frame.
