Agidel’ Map Poster & Print
Agidel’ sits in the northwest of Bashkortostan on the Belaya River, whose Bashkir name, Agidel, gives the town its own. From above, it looks distinctly planned: a compact grid of large residential blocks set on the river's bank, with forest pressing close on the other sides and the broad water curving past.
The town was founded around 1980 to house workers building the Bashkir nuclear power station. Construction was halted after the Chernobyl disaster and never resumed, leaving a town built for a purpose that did not materialise. Its layout still reflects late Soviet planning, with wide streets and regular microdistricts.
An Agidel’ map poster captures that ordered shape against the natural sweep of the river. The blocks form a clear geometric island, the Belaya bends in a wide arc, and the surrounding woodland leaves plenty of open space. It is a small town with an unusual story, legible in its very outline.

Soviet microdistricts
Residential areas are arranged in regular blocks with wide spaces between buildings, typical of late Soviet town planning and clearly visible on the map.
Forest margins
Woodland surrounds much of the town, so the built area appears as a compact, well-defined shape with little sprawl.
