Ait Yazza lies on the Souss plain in southern Morocco, the wide agricultural basin that runs inland from Agadir between the High Atlas to the north and the Anti-Atlas to the south. The town itself is compact, a cluster of streets around a few main roads, and the land around it is divided into large, regular plots that reach almost to the last houses.
Agriculture shapes almost everything visible from above. The Souss valley is one of Morocco's most important growing regions, known for citrus and vegetables, and the countryside is ruled with field boundaries, farm tracks and irrigated parcels. Villages and hamlets are scattered between them, linked by roads that run mostly straight across the level ground.
