The Nile
The river runs along the valley near the town, forming a broad, calm band that anchors the poster and explains the shape of everything else on the map.

Al ‘Ayyāţ Map Poster & Print
Al ‘Ayyāţ lies in Giza governorate, south of Cairo, in the stretch of the Nile valley where the cultivated land narrows to a thin green corridor. From above, the geography is stark: the river on one side, farmland and villages along the valley floor, and the pale, empty desert beginning abruptly at its edge.
The town grew along the main routes that follow the valley, and a railway runs through the area toward Upper Egypt. Its streets are dense near the centre and loosen toward the fields. Canals drawn from the Nile cut across the farmland in long lines, feeding the crops that make this strip so productive.
An Al ‘Ayyāţ map poster captures the essential structure of Egypt in a single frame: a line of water, a band of life along it, and wide empty space beyond. In monochrome, the contrast between the dense valley and the blank desert makes for a striking and unusual composition, quite unlike a typical city map.

Valley railway
A railway line runs through the area toward Upper Egypt, drawing a straight line parallel to the river and the main road along the valley.
Desert edge
Toward the edge of the valley, the map falls silent. The sudden transition from dense fields and villages to open desert gives the print its most dramatic boundary.
